PhD – Multiomic Insights into Mitochondrial Disease – integrating proteomic, genomic and single-cell approaches to understand clinical heterogeneity in mitochondrial disease.
We’re looking for a curious and motivated researcher who is excited by both technology development and biological discovery, and who wants to contribute to research with real potential to improve diagnosis, prognostic prediction and ultimately treatment for people affected by rare mitochondrial diseases.
This project is based within and aligns with the vision of the LifeArc Centre for Rare Mitochondrial Diseases to bring rapid advances in diagnostics and treatments to patients. The student will use advanced proteomic, genomic and single-cell approaches to understand why individuals carrying the same mitochondrial disease-causing mutations can experience very different clinical outcomes.
